Default Shipping and flights

I am going to Australia in December. I am shipping just personal stuff, 10 boxes maximum. Can anyone recommend a shipping company. Also I would like to find some cheap one way flights for me and my wife. I want to fly on 21st December to Melbourne. Cheapest I found were £576 each.

Cheers

Thats the peak time of year - I'll be surprised if you get cheaper! Which airline though? Is it a reputable one?
As for shipping - most companies will do small consignments, you just share a container so it may take longer. Do a few searches on here and you will find plenty of people who have only shipped a small amount.

We are just about to book flights to Melbourne leaving on the 28th Dec & have been quoted £570 (not including tax). This is a half way round the world deal with BA/Qantas. We're stopping in Cape Town, Jo'burb before going on to NZ via a quick connection in Sydney. After NZ we're getting Virgin Blue flights to Melbourne. A 38 day trip in all. Total flight price for all destinations £860.00 (inc. tax) - Pretty good I thought....

John Mason have been recommended to me but we're not packing up the whole house but will have more stuff than you. What about Anglo Pacific? I thing they do small amounts but I have seen them bashed on here before so maybe do a search on this forum to see what their reputation is like.....

Good Luck...

Yes, thought that was more or less the case. They might come in handy if you fancy making a mosaic out of what's left of your Ming Dynasty vase.

Confucius says, "knowing who to avoid :scared: is just as helpful as who is recommended".

(thanks to those who posted)

I have to admit I have spent AGES getting quotes and for 10 boxes these companies cannot be beaten on price, only dilemna is sizes of boxes - bloody Dyson won't fit in! (I love my Dyson)

flights

travelbag or airline network, worth a phone call as well as an online check

Good luck
remember Singapore give extra baggage allowance with proof of a migration visa!

Try www.airline-network.co.uk for flights. Seen some pretty good deals.

We've sent 11 40kg boxes with Sevenseas for £535. As for flights what you have been quoted sounds very cheap. Not heard of any cheaper.

We flew on Christmas day one year and it was fairly cheaper than the days around that time. So if it's not much bother to you then it's a option.
