I don't think anyone's ever spoken about shipping on the website, not many people do it when emigrating.

Possibly put "shipping costs" into the search box and see if anything appears, but it's a new one on me...

There are lots and lots of threads on shipping. Have a search using the button above. Depends on how big your house is and if you need a 20 or a 40 foot container. Seems to be roughly 3,500 for a 20 and more for a 40. Sorry don't have a pound sign on laptop.

Takes around 8-12 weeks depending on how much of the container you use. Full use is quicker. Shared use is longer.

Weekly threads on shipping though so have a good search through older threads and see what you can find there.

8-12 weeks....I'm praying now!!!

We were told 8-13 weeks. Our stuff was collected 5 weeks ago, we're on a shared container & our stuff is still at the depot waiting for a full container. When hubby spoke to them last week they still had no idea when it would be loaded. We fly in less than 3 weeks so looks like we're going to be waiting a while to see all our stuff again I'm keeping everything crossed that by some stroke of luck they get the container filled in the next week or so

I understand that it is at least 4 weeks sailing time but then you have the quarantine stuff to get through in Australia and then get a delivery date.

We used Crown and so far so good, we are tracking our shipment, currently just off of China enroute to Brisbane. We have a sole use container, door to door service at a cost of £3700 + Insurance and we have used Letton Percival as they were cheaper. Will let you know how it pans out when it finally arrives!!

Hi there - we are moving to Sydney in October and have just received a quote from Crown of £4500 for a 28 cubic metre sole container. Insurance is extra and they have currently quoted around £1800 if the goods are valued at £60,000 - but ours won't be worth that much so they then charge 3.4% of the total value...

Crown told me to shipping to Sydney is between 8 & 12 weeks, so I'm trying to find temporary furnished property for a couple of months.

I have Pickfords coming to do a quote next week.

Good luck with yours!!

We've been told 6 weeks sailing time & approximately a week to get through customs although apparently they are short staffed at the moment so may take longer to get cleared.

Be warned, customs clearance time can vary tremendously depending on what else they have in at the time. In addition if your stuff arrives around Christmas and gets caught in the backlog while they are closed it can take 6 weeks or so to clear.

we have had 4 quotes from Pickfords, PSS, Anglo Pacific and Robinsons. It is for sole use of a 20ft container from Southampton to Sydney. Cheapest is 3700 up to 3990. All have said the quotes are negotiable. Time wise we have been told 6-8 weeks and like Pollyana mentioned if it is near to the christmas period the container could be left until the new year. I am hoping we will get one of them down to 3500
Will let you know how we get on! Its now between PSS and Robinsons so we will see!
