Hi,
Does anyone have any info or useful links on the costs of shipping/taking goods into Australia?
I have a few things I would take with me to aus when the times comes (an expensive mountain bike) and an old vintage car (MG TD from 1950).
The car would not go immediatly but I would just like to find out the costs and procedures anyway.
I also think the cost of taking a mountain bike would not be worth it (it may be cheaper to get a new one there than pay the import duties) but also just interested to find out as its a fancy bike (Yeti 575). It would also probably have to sit in quarintine for a while.
TIA if you have any info/experience/links.

Hi there
If you use the search button above there are loads of threads about shipping cars to Australia and the estimated costs and the information you need to provide. I looked at it myself but we've decided against it as the costs are so high.
There are threads every week about shipping so there is masses of information there.
What you need to remember is that your mountain bike will be inspected in Australia so it needs to be spotlessly clean or they will charge you.

Expensive but worth it if it is a vintage car or has sentimental value.

Nice bike. My husband and me have Commencals which we're shipping. You'll not have duty to pay on the import if you've owned it more than 12 months. Only thing is to make sure it's spotless before you ship it.
