has anyone shipped a caravan to oz, how much does it cost and what are the implications, tax etc, on a second hand caravan. Any suggestions appreciated

Dont really know, but you'll have to get it licensed to aussie standards, electricals sorted out, you'll invalidate any electrical warranties by moving it out of the country you brought it in and NEED to get aircon...

Having said all that you'll probably still save yerself a packet....
