Re: Shipping for Boxes Only!
Hi,
I'm using sevenseas as they have given me the cheapest quote. Shipping from the UK to GC, QLD works out to £89 for the first 4.5 cu ft box and then each 4.5 cu ft box is £45 thereafter. That's for the door to door service, but you will have to pay an additional £28.50 delivery, collection and redelivery fee and then an extra £20 (give or take) for the customs fee (A$100).
You will have to pack the boxes yourself, they can pack for you but that will incur an additional charge. I'm taking a PC (just the tower, no monitor) , 2 x DJ decks and a mixer plus books, clothes and other personal items. If you have specialist items that are fragile or require special handling they can pack those items individually (again for an extra charge). They offer insurance - 5% of total value for all risks insurance or 3% for total loss insurance. You will need to read the small print as some items aren't covered regardless?
Apparently all your shoes will need to be super clean and packed on top in the boxes so customs can quickly check for foreign soil etc...
Think that's about it - hope this helps!

Seven Seas packing cartons are chemically hardened cardboard boxes, designed for the multiple purposes of packing, storing or transporting your personal effects safely.
The largest packing carton we supply is the 'Tea-Chest carton', it's dimensions are:
height 61cm, depth 51cm & width 41cm
Useful for packing bulky but light items such as clothes, shoes, bed linen & sports equipment.
The other packing carton is a 'Book Box carton', it's dimensions are:
height 51cm, depth 41cm & width 31cm
Useful for packing heavy items such as books, albums, files, CD's & hand tools.
This is the information I copied from their website...

Re: Shipping for Boxes Only!
Im using Seven Seas too. Cant fault them so far - very efficient. Having done a lot of research, Seven Seas are cheapest, promise shortest shipping time, allow more weight per box (40kg) and have bigger boxes (cu ft) and you can just insure 1 or 2 boxes not whole shipment. Recommended.

Re: Shipping for Boxes Only!
Thanks everyone for your replies. Another question how long does it take to ship the boxes? Is it still 6 - 8 weeks like a container or shorter time?
Thanks

Re: Shipping for Boxes Only!
We shipped excess baggage for 13 tea crates which is a lot of stuff. It can take longer than your own container as it only ships when the container fills as I understand. We recieved our boxes about 3 months after we sent them, this was to adelaide tho.

Re: Shipping for Boxes Only!
I am using PSS. They quoted me £80 for the first box and then £30 thereafter for Tea crates. They also do one free delivery and one free pick. They advised me to over order otherwise you will pay for more boxes to be delivered and you only pay for what you use.
