Can anyone recommend a good shipping company? I am moving from London to Adelaide. Also how far in advance do you have to book them?

John Mason - a few months in advance but the sooner the better. Also, shop around for container insurance as the insurance the shippers offer isn't necessarily the cheapest as we found out afterwards. The John Mason Insurance was 3% of the estimated replacement value of good at destination.

Also, some people have got lumbered with container cleaning cost you can pay a one off fee of approx £30 to cover you if AQIS insist it be cleaned.

We chucked and gave away loads of stuff we should have taken so if in doubt ship it.
