Smile Shellypuss - 1 month in and still OK

Dear All,

Have not been able to post as much as would like - still not set up my puter at home.

We have been here a month now and it is still OK

Wages - hubby is a fitter $20.32 per hour which is the highest rate avail for casual employees - and everyone is casual until probation is over.

Will post a proper long boring account of how we are finding it in a couple of weeks.

To everyone still waiting - good luck.

It is different here but we are not disappointed (yet) lol.

Bye

Shelly

Hiya,

Just read your post - what's probation? and how long does it last? and who does it apply to?

Just got my visa and a whole lot of questions have arisen that I hadn't thought about before!

Cheers,

Steve.

Shelly,

Shelly,

Glad to hear that you have settled ok in Adelaide and things are going well. Which part of Adelaide are you currently in if you don’t mind me asking?

Regards

Probation is the tryout period when you get a new job. Here (UK) it's usually 3 months during which time they don't have to give you notice to sack you, and you don't get usual leave/sickness entitlements.
