Sending Food from the UK
Hi, I was just wondering, if food is packaged and sealed, can it be sent from the UK without any sort of customs issues? I'm talking mainly about dried foods like Pasta and Sauce etc. I'm not pregnant, but I've taken a real notion for a few bits and pieces lol

My mum sends me certain packet mixes, batchelors super noodles and prawn cocktail crisps among other things. The packages are regularly opened by customs but we havent had anything removed x

Does she have to pay a fortune in postage? What postage method does she use, just Royal Mail or a courier?

Re: Sending Food from the UK
when we went to the uk for a visit it cost us 50 quid to send 3 boxes of food stuff to oz the boxes where about twice the size of a shoe box and had to be light in weight so dried foods was the only thing we come send
nice surprise when they arrive as we forgot what was in there
sent from the uk post office

Also worth looking at some of the British shops online over here - Celtic Koala (Brisbane), Treats from Home (Melbourne/Sydney) are ones I buy from. There are plenty of others too, cheaper than UK postage at times

Re: Sending Food from the UK
There are litreally 100's probably 1000's of different types of Pasta and Sauces available in Melbourne . In fact locally in Brunswick we have Two supermarket sized Outlets dedicated to selling them to our local Meditteraneans. When I say Supermarket size.... make it more like Warehouse sized.
That's Basfoods and Meditteranean Wholesalers...... I doubt if they have one UK based Pasta or Sauce item in either or any other item of those places.... Save for maybe some Kippers or something. This is without the actual Ethnic locally made stuff which is abundant around here.
The more I hear about life in Queensland the more I'm glad I dont live there.
What brands we talking about here Jen.... I must get some Italian mates to try them.
Honestly the Wife just asked me why I was LOL.... she is now as well.

The other day I took a wee notion for a 'slider' so popped to the shops n got some wafers, then I took a wee notion for carrots n parsnip, so I bought some, this notion though, isn't quite so simple, EEEK! LOL
