Default Selling your house privately?

Has anyone ever sold a house privately here in Australia?

How easy was it?

In the process of getting the estate agents over and they want about 15k, gulp.

I've notice a few private sale signs outside houses in and around WA and wondered if anyone on here has sold their property this way?

Pros and Cons anyone?

PS, if anyone's interested, it's in Hilton (SOR), 3 x 1.

http://www.gogecko.com.au/ will sell your house for a max of 6k, but i'm not sure if they in Perth.

I worked with someone who tried it but they didn't seem to have much luck. Problem was the seller was saving money but the buyers didn't get any benefit, maybe it worth offering a gimmick with the money you save, $3k cash to the buyer or something like that.

Thanks,

I think you can advertise on reiwa.com too, with a private sale.

Just wondered if anyone on here had done it themselves and if they had any personal advice on doing it, good or bad.

You have to be an estate agent to advertise, no private sellers allowed!

You can advertise your own house with www.domain.com.au:

http://selfservice.domain.com.au/public/placead.aspx

It costs about $250 for a months advert by the looks of things...

No need to be an agent.

And there's nothing to stop you erecting a flash sign outside your house with your own number on it, saying House for sale, knock and ask...
