Hi Terry,

We are nowhere near completion with the visa yet, but we have put the house on the market. Things have really slowed down, we put the house on the market at the beginning of January and have had no offers yet. Before Christmas properties were selling within two weeks.

You can always put the house on the market to test the water, you don't have to accept an offer! If it attracts an offer really quickly then just refuse the offer, take it off the market and put it back on when you are ready.

The other alternative is to tell your prospective buyer or your agent your plans, we told our agent that we were not prepared to exchange before July, (mainly due to the school situation, we wouldn't move the kids before they completed the year) if we got a quick sale, and he said that wouldn't be a problem, most buyers will wait for the right property! As it stands though we have only had two viewings, but we have time on our hands so we can afford to wait.

I look at it that our agent has almost guaranteed that we will get the visa, as best as he can, if we don't then it will be back to the drawing board and we will have to buy somewhere else when this market drops.

I would be too scared to have the house being a noose around our necks holding us back from beginning our future!

Hazel

Default Should i sell

We put our house on the market in mid February just after sending off our medcals. We have had plentyof viewings but little real interest until today(fingers crossed).
We sent off our police checks in mid March got our Visas yesterday!
Good luck however you decide to play it.

Hi Terry

Wish we had put ours on the market sooner, have now got visa and will have to hope that the house will sell before the slow down really kicks in, if indeed there is a slow down as it could all turn around again who knows?

Hi Hazel, Terry

Good luck with the sale, ours went on today too after weeks of dreaded diy. think it was worth it though as agents seemed to be impressed. Just need the punters through the door now hopfully with a sale this weekend. Well people do often mention dreamers on this site.

From one Terry to another !

Hope you're well.

This weekend is supposed to be the busiest of the year in terms of viewings - fingers and feet crossed for us all.
