Selfish Pensioners
You think they'd know better.
I just hope that the offending OAP's never need an ambulance in a time of crisis only to be told that it's currently on a shopping-run.

Re: Selfish Pensioners
One of my 50 something yr.old patient went out shoping on a day pass
from the hospital ,called the ambulance to bring her back to the
hospital because the taxi driver refused to help carry her shopping
bags. She told us that she knew the ambulance staff would
transport her and her bags back to the ward for free.

The state pension in pretty poor, cant blame them for trying to save a bit of money.
That being said, I would be really annoyed if I couldnt get an ambulance because some old dear wanted to go to Aldi!!

I did not realise how bad this issue was until I worked for a client (hampshire ambulance) and saw first hand how many false calls were being made.
When it rains the calls esculate - "It is an emergency, I dont want to get wet":curse:
