Re: Scots in Australia

To be honest Margaret - I didn't want to go back this year as I thought it was "too soon".

Reluctantly agreed to the holiday and surprised myself by loving my trip back to UK. Loved seeing family, friends and local haunts. Loved the food and the shopping. Felt "at home" with friends like I've not done here yet.

Surprised myself even more by crying on the flight back to Aus. I remember thinking "no matter how nice the house, pool sunshine etc - none of it is important without the people who matter in your life".

Settled back in here again nicely though.

Still in limbo land with my men...

As Charles Darwin once said:

"It's not necessarily the strongest of species that survive, it's those most adaptable to change."

So are there any scots out there staying:blink:

I'm in the process of my visa application and just to remind everyone out there of how Scotland is, it's wet & cold! Don't get me wrong, when we do get the weather and you manage to break the habbit of watching the telly, it is a beautiful country. It's just that we usually don't and we spend 95% of our time indoors. I stayed 2 summers in Spain and loved waking up and going for a coffee outside to start your day. Going to Oz on my own and can't wait. It's a big move but you got to live your life and after seeing the other half, I want it!
