Science PostGrad/Diplomas and Distance Learning
I'm at a loose end and am considering doing a PostGrad, specifically a Grad Dip which sounds wanky but the one I like is seriously up my alley.
I want to do a Science Masters eventually but want to start with a GradDip in Atmospheric Science with Maths. There's a fair bit of modelling and calculus. (It's at Grad level but you still need a first degree to get on the course.) This is for a hobby, but the calculus can be used elsewhere so I don't see it as a waste.
After being quoted 20k, I looked at the Open University. Some great modules, including Advanced Maths, but to give you an idea, they only do a Bsc in Applied Science (RMIT) which focuses on Biotech and one other, and their PostGrads are minimal, seems most of their stuff is outside Science.
In searching for online courses, I've found a Science Diploma offered by ACS for 8k but it seems a bit mickeymouse...TAFE does Science Certificates but again not at the level I want.
Any ideas/experience? Cheers!
