Default Schooling in New South Wales..

Hi,
We are currently in the process of applying for a Skilled-Independent Sponsored 176 visa and trying to gather as much information as we can before the move to Oz. One thing we would like more details etc about is schooling in NSW, specifically around Erina, Terrigal, Bateau Bay area. We have 2 children who will be 4 and 7 years old when we move (hopefully!). Our youngest currently attends a nursery department which is attached to our older childs' primary school.

Within their current school here in the UK, those children attending the nursery automatically transfer over to the primary section.

What kind of school will our 4 year old be eligible to attend in Australia and would it be funded or do we pay? Is there a similar set up over in Oz, where the 4year old would be in a nursery school attached to the 7 year olds primary school.

Also would like some other information regarding enrolment eg how far in advance does this need to be done, procedure etc. Also, do catchment areas come into effect.

If anybody has any info or other details about schooling in that area it would be of great help

Many thanks
Andy
