Hi all.

My 12 year old is currently in year 7 here in the Uk. She will be 13 in September 2007. We are planning to be in Oz in July. Can someone tell me which school year she would join??

It differs from state to state - which state are you heading for?

If it's QLD, I'd say she'd enter school halfway thru Yr 8 (which is the 1st year of high school)

If it's NSW, then she'd go into Year 7 which is also the first year of High School.

If you're coming to WA, she would go into Year 7, in the final year of Primary. High school begins in Year 8 here. Term 3 begins Tuesday 24th July after a 2-week break.

We live in WA, my daughter is 13 in October and starts year 8, first year of High School on Jan 31st (term 1).

and maybe more examinations in year 10 rather than a general school certificate.
