I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about but Seek.com and Careerone.com are good job web sites.

I'm sure I read a discussion earlier this evening on SAP - have a search.

Re: SAP jobs if any....
lots of companies use SAP but they will just advertise for example- logisitics scheduler with SAP SD experience. As far as I am aware they do not advertise for SAP person who has a knowledge of logistics planning.
And generally SAP is not that hard to pick up so would be considered in a similar vein to having Excel or Word knowledge.

I know SAP consultants with 15 years experience who are still learning as the product evolves.
SAP similar to Excel....GIVE ME A BREAK.
What version of SAP do you know about ?. Do you know how to configure a distribution assessment ? Do you know what a fact table is ?
Honestly - you don't sound knowledgeable with such statements.

I think a bit of an understatement.
SAP, if configured and implemented well, SHOULD be used by far more people in an organisation than just the admin personnel......salesmen on the front line facing the customer for example...hardly admin people.........

Re: SAP jobs if any....
I don't know many salespeople who would bother using SAP or any other software program when there is paid admin staff to use it, especially when their (the salesperson) main aim in the organisation is to SELL, not punch a keyboard. I have never seen any advertisement on any job site for salespeople that required knowledge of SAP.
As to your shot at Pomster, the words were "And generally SAP is not that hard to pick up so would be considered in a similar vein to having Excel or Word knowledge.", which I take to mean that it is not that difficult for anyone to pickup the skills. As Pomster said, companies do not usually advertise SPECIFICALLY for a SAP specialist, but for people that can USE the product as part of their normal admin duties.

SAP is a tool like excel and word, but with any tool your level of skill or knowledge determines level of output (which does translate into increased sales)
Rather than specifically just SAP any ERP system should be part of a salesmen knowledge base or they will indeed be left behind. By this I do not mean they should know about every system on the market but all ERP have common functionality which they should be aware of and be self motivated enough to search out. As we live in an era of information being vital.

I'll have to wind up the SAP guys around here and tell them it is a glorified spreadsheet.

I believe the CBA is going SAP.

I think some of us on here are seeing SAP from a user's perspective, and some from the IT/implementation side. Nobody is wrong.
As for the OP, I'd assumed he's an implementer, but the "no hands on" thing is very confusing. Looks like a bit of a hit and run post to me so I won't waste any more time on it.

Depends on organisation and whether they are after pleb sale reps or somebody with more fire.

Some posters here who think they know SAP are in the right place...In Aus where they don't know what they frig they are talking about.
If they came looking for work at my place saying shite like they have posted here they'd have zero chance.
I am not a SAP geek but rather more responsible for a multi million pound investment in SAP. If only admin people were to use it then it would be a darn big waste of money.
"The Bloke" poster knows nothing of value on this topic it is crystal.
