Doing a little light hoovering this morning - as one does - I saw a bit of a commotion behind the curtains in the living room. Pulling these aside revealed a 17" lizardy creature (see photo). After much screaming from Mrs Rog, who shinned rapidly up the chandelier and yelled useless advice from on high, and with considerable bravery, the creature was trapped under a towel and carried back into the garden.

I think it's a blue tongued skink, but has anyone a degree in herpetology and can positively identify Santa Claws?
