HI there
I am just wanting to know the rough cost of a twenty foot container to be shipped from uk to oz. JUst need to know rough price to work out wether or not it is worth doing

Very rough quote around 2500 - 3000 £

It varies from company to company, get at least three quotes as there is a lot of competion out there. 20ft containter costs anywhere between 3 to 4 thousand pounds. We paid abt 3.5K 2 1/2 yrs ago. Also depends on where you are headed in Australia re ports etc. We paid extra costs cause we moved to Cairns and it docked in at Brisbane. They will deliver within a 30k radius of where it docks after that you pay extra transport costs. Well, we did anyway and a friend who has just landed in Cairns has had to pay extra too.

crown £4100-£4500 and removalgroup.com £25550- £3400.

We had a quote from doree bonner - £3400 from midlands to brisbane...

£3800 - 4000 from PSS
Watch out for hidden costs like the Customs agents cost on Aussie Ports , and in some cases where goods need to be sprayed as a requirement, this can add another £500 - 600 we have been told.

OMG hope thats an extra 5 in there Ally!!

We also just had quotes last week.

PSS were £3400

Crown £4049

Allied Pickfords bunch of muppets came weeks ago and phoned last week to say they couldn't remember my name for the quote WTF told them if they were that incompetent not to bother with a quote:mad:

There have been good and bad posts on all the companies. Like everything it will come down to how it all works out on the day.

Does anyone have a feel for how well these companies can pack the containers? A 20 footer is nominally 33.2 cu m, but how much of that will reralistically be used? Presumably there's some wasted space above things - you can't really stack them to the very top throughout can you?

we got 3 quotes doree bonner £3255,john mason £3465,pss £3235.after a bit of haggling we've gone with john mason who reduced to £3185.thats a 20ft reefer leics to brisbane for the end of april.hope that helps.

Yes it is the cheapest quote we've had but if you require packing its another £800 -£900 on top, and that is for a 20ft container.
