Default renting in brisbane - how?

Hi all,
I wonder if anyone can help me with this. We are going over to Brisbane as soon as we can sellour house.
Ive heard it is really quite hard to rent a house to start with as we will have no credit history in Oz.
Does anyone have any tips or can tell me what i need to take with us to give us a better chance - e.g. character refs etc.
I would be really grateful for any input with this.
take care

It is not that hard at all if you have work, have references (bank or
financial institution) letter from employer once here may help but I guess
you would want to rent immediately so I am thinking Bank would be best.

Character refs may be of minimal use to you but a bank reference should
suffice and of course the fact that you are purchasing a business will
enhance your position.

Hi Kismet
I arrived in Brisbane with my family three months ago after living in Malaysia for 8 years. We had no UK or Australian credit history. Renting a property could not have been easier, we did not neeed work or bank references, we had to pay a bond equivilent to two months rent and rent two weeks in advance. Everything here is so easy we opened bank accounts and got a mortgage without any problems. Good luck in selling your house, it really is wonderful here.
