Hi - first post on here (just signed up).....hope everyone is ok!

I am looking at moving to Sydney soon with my family which includes a couple of pet dogs - I am doing some research on rental property that allows pets but nothing is coming back.....can anyone help me to look in the right place(s) as the searches I am doing are not bringing any results?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there and welcome

Realestate.com.au is an often recommended site for searching for property. Don't search specifically for properties that say 'pets allowed' but search all properties. Those that will not accept pets under any circumstances usually say so, and if it doesn't say then you can ask the agent if the landlord would accept your pet

There is also not much point in looking for longer term rentals until you arrive here, so don't be alarmed if agents don't reply to you.
Dogs here are often kept outside, and unless they are small and non shedding, you will struggle with a rental if you say you want to keep them inside with you (even though lots of people do).
Instead focus on getting evidence of how well behaved your animals are - if possible a reference from your current uk rental agent. When asked about size I would suggest using the term small or medium as there is more that one unless they are wolfhounds or great danes (in which case you really will struggle in Sydney!)
Finally confirm you will pay for any damage your dogs cause - you have to anyway so its good to offer!
You are very unlikely to get a furnished rental with dogs, so get yourselves over and settled in short term housing while the dogs are in kennels and go from there.
