Cool Rental References?

Hi there everyone, I can remember a thread about renting and saying that you should get a letter from your estate agent when you sell your house to say that it was kept and left in a good condition etc for when you try to rent in AUS but we have sold our house private and dont have an estate agent.

What can we do instead??
Thaks Pete.

I think paying the first 3 months rent in advance normally keeps them happy.

Also have your passport available to show you have just arrived in Oz.

Bank Statements
Tax assessments
Utility bills
Attach a decent covering letter explaining your circumstances.

When u arrive in Oz are you staying with anyone? Do you have any other friends in Oz (praps even in a different state?)

We named those 2 options. Think it was more of a character reference. Also gave them copies of mortgage statement to prove we'd paid a mortgage for x number of years. That's more important that the condition of your house.

Hope this helps.

I would def agree with this, we did this and got our unit no problems, its nice aswell paying it upfront as you dont have to worry then for you first 3 months

We rented a place in mandurah and all we had to show was proof of money in our account. It does help if you do have a contact number for your estate agents over there but its not essential.(we didn't have a letter) Show your passports as well. All they want to know is if you have the money to pay the rent each month. Good luck

When we rented, we offered passports, mortgage statements, bank accounts, etc plus an employer reference to show how much hub earned. They didn't need all the stuff we offered, just the ref and passports as proof of ID. Some are more picky though, but the offer to pay up front helps.
