Default Rental Contents Insurance.

As a tenant what are you responsable in terms of insurance ? Is it just your own contents insurance , or do you have to cover fire or anything ? Any recommendations ? With Nrma for the car.

I think it is just contents insurance which you need. A nice British woman who worked in Commonwealth Bank recommended their contents insurance to me.

We've only got contents insurance (through Commonwealth Bank) which is cheap compared to the UK. We were told that as we are renting this is all that's required.

In Australia the insureance for the PROPERTY is the responsibilty of the landloard/owner.

You only have to insure the contents (ie your stuff)!
