we had never rented before either. No references either. It shouldnt create any problems. You might have to pay 3/6 months in advance to secure a rental.

We rented a fully furnished rental for 7 weeks, then took on a rental on a 12 month lease, then broke the lease after 1 month when we moved into our new place. Breaking lease at the moment is not a problem because the market is so scarce, they have them rented out in a week normally.

We were in exactly the same boat and showed a healthy bank statement as a reference. Rented the place we wanted straight away.

we stayed with family for a few days before we came so asked them for a ref if you stay in holiday let when you arrive on booking ask them if you can use there postal ady & would they give you a ref
