We sent our passports off a couple of weeks ago, so can let you know when they come back. Sorry I can't give you a definite answer before then.

You have two options here, your visa stamp goes in your current passport and then when you get your new passport you carry the old one too as the visa is still valid, the alternative is you can get your new passport stamped with your visa in exactly the same way as before, but it will cost I think £18, I am sure I read that figure somewhere,

Have you already received the visa in the current passport? If so you would have to wait until you get here to have a new sticker put in the new passport. Between now and then you will have to travel here with both passports.

If you've not yet received the visa then you just inform DIAC that you have a new passport and let them know the new number and the visa will be put in that passport.

I don't believe you can have a new visa stuck in a new passport in the UK anymore .
