You can download the form and instructions, but the only nuisance is that photo has to be signed by a professional who has known you for 2 years. The form says that you also need birth and marriage certificates, but this is only for brand new applications.

OMG that is so expensive can you not get a reli to post it in the uk for you pay in pounds then have visa put in over at a local DIMIA office in Aus??? or do you HAVE to do it in Oz? Our daughters was due to run out in 2008 so we just decided to renew now rather than mess about if we get to Oz, I'm so glad.

If living in Australia, you must renew at the British High Commission in Canberra, sorry.

Passport fees outside the UK are higher because the cost of providing passport services overseas is higher (print runs are much smaller).

Flexible (ish) they only gave my daughter a yr on her passport due to not knowing anyone for 2 yrs!!!! But they say that next yr they will give her a longer one as she will then fulfill the criteria!!! free of charge as we have already paid, but dumb or what!!!
Just make sure the photos are top notch as they are now so specific due to the micro chip or something!!!
