Default Relocating to Melbourne from UAE

Hi frnds ...

m planning to shift to melbourne, australia from uae ...

few questions include ...

1) is it better to come directly with family (wife and one kid) or to come earlier without family for 3 months and search job ? any idea ...

2) how much are basic expenses in melbourne for family of 3, husband, wife and 1yr old kid ?? on per month basis ....

appreciate ur prompt response.

Do you have a visa?

Your questions aren't specific enough fot people to give you accurate information. You need to let us know the industry you work in, proximity to the city you would like to live, how old the kids are and the type of schooling you want for them etc.

Things are priced very differently in Australia compared to The UAE and you can't bring your maid and house boy so you might be in fora few shocks.

Are you originally from the UAE? If so it would mean that you wife and child would possibly have family support If you were to go ahead. What happens if you do not find work in the first 3 months - will you delay your family joining you or go back to UAE?

Are all the visas validated? If not, and you do go ahead, remember that your wife and child will both need to enter Australia by the date given.

Expenses will depend on what sort of lifestyle you live, what property you rent or buy, what foods you want, etc.

Good advice and I'd add that Caroline Springs and anywhere out that western area would be slightly below Melbourne average in terms of renting and buying.

I would suggest that splitting up the family might add to the stress of migration.
