Default Rego and Roadworthiness again ????

Okay i am looking at buying a cheap ute for running bits and pieces around, i have done a quick search on here and cannot find in exact terms what i need to do, the vehicle is being sold to me for 1300 (its 27 years old )and has rego till december , now the last owner (private sale) had a RWC done 6 months ago on it. What will i need to do to drive it legally ? thanks

If it has rego, you just need to have this transferred into your name when you buy it. Then you will have to pay stamp duty to the government as well when you go into vicroads to do the transfer.

PS I believe a roadworthy certificate is only valid for 30 days so the seller needs to get another one done.

Here is the relevant page at Vicroads.
