Probably be better defined for immigration purposes later but probably much like this:

Definition: Regional Australia

Definitely not my cup of tea. They will place you where no one else wants to go, middle of the bush I expect.

Well, Perth won't be regional, but the rest of Western Australia would be I think.
But, what are the borders of Perth........
Joondalup in the north?
Kalamunda to the east?
Mandurah to the south?

On this site, for tourists, but from the government http://www.westernaustralia.net/serv...gionName=Perth
it says that Perth region(375 towns) includes things like Safety Bay, Secret Harbour(mandurah, right?), Mundaring, Bickley(east), Bullsbrook, Joondalup (north)

But as Meg say's, you'll have to wait untill DIMIA says what it is.
There doesn't seem to be a real definition yet!
