I reckon it is tho, as like you say 'the glint in it's eye'.
I've said before and will say again, they wink at me when I chase them with pest spray. I've got a few pics of this happening!
Here's one, look! ... one eye is closed! ...

Well to be honest none of us like the damn things, but ARE getting used to em now, you gotta!
Excluding our redbacks we see prob a huntsman a week or fortnight, a cockroach once every few months, never seen a snake or much else to be honest.
It's all good! ...

I think your spiders just love having their photos taken
I'm sure they're smiling for the camera!
Cockroaches don't bother me, except that they spread germs and diseases. I've found a good way to kill them, and ants, without turning the kitchen into chemical weapons wasteland..... Ajax Spray and Wipe, kills them faster than the flysprays and cleans the worktops too.....Now that's what I call "brand power"
Things like roos and koalas are really a plus though aren't they, I saw some wallabies just chilling out in someone's front garden up in the hills a few weeks back. Rainbow lorrikeets (sp?) have been nibbling and squabbling over bottlebrush flowers in our garden and a kingfisher comes in for the geckos every now and then.

We have this spray called Mortein and altho NOT meant for spiders, it does work! When I chase the buggers they start laughing and winking ... I swear it!
I've got other pics of them winking, I swear it's true! ... but am up for work in 5 hours so time to hit the hay! ...

Will post them tomorrow ...
