Recently arrived in Townsville, QLD
Arrived in Sunny Townsville 6 weeks ago, finally sorted a house, schools, cars etc.
I've heard there are lots of expats here, but haven't found any yet, would be really good to hear from others in the twin cities.

Hi, We will be joining you in about 6 weeks depending on how long the house sale takes to complete. We can't wait to get out there and would love to meet up when we arrive. Have you got any top tips for the newly arrived based on your experience.

Look for people not driving rusty Landcruiser utes with pig dogs on the back.
We are here. Beware big boots, tiny shorts and ZZ top clones as some have been here longer than others

First thing you will need is a car. Public transport isn't great in North Queensland. We can recommend a couple of garages (car yards). Are you looking to rent to begin with as this is a very competitive. If you drop us a pm with your plans for when you get here we can give you some more of an idea things like schools, banks, renting etc. Would love to meet up when you arrive.
