Receiving Emails Problem

Hello all,
Just a note about problems receiving emails as mentioned in below thread about Medicals.
We had not received any Emails from the Aus Visa people in respect of receiving our Visa application or anthing else. We we waited and wondered if they had got it at all, then we see that the fee had been taken from our account, but we still had no contact from them.
We just presumed that there was a response back log.
Just after the new year we decided to telephone them, it was a good job we did. They had sent us both our application receipt and a medical request by email. We had received neither of them. They verbally advised us of our reference details with them.
I contacted my email server (Orange) and asked them if they could help with the missing emails, they were aware of email delivery problems and informed me I had nearly 200 emails that were in my email server box that had not been downloaded to me, dating back to Oct 2006. They said that it is a Microsoft / Outlook Express problem and that Microsoft had been trying to resolve this for some time. They do not know why you get some emails and not others. They advised me how I could look at all the emails that had not been downloaded to my computer which would be when the problem has been resolved. They said I should check both my and their email holder until the problem has been resolved by Microsoft.
Anybody who is waiting for emails and are using the mentioned above
email routes should check from their Servers Home page.
Orange home page - top right side, grey box says Email address and Password.
Hope this helps anyone waiting for email responses.

we had the same problem. we were waiting for med req and i read on another website that some servers were sending the emails straight to the jumk box. i have hotmail so i emailed dimia and they sent me an email advising of the req for meds and a new date for them to have recieved them by.
At the time i was just relieved to know the process was moving along but now i think what a difference those couple of months would have made. also what if i hadnt emailed dimia because i know they dont really like you to contact them unless urgent.
Anyway alls well that ends well.

We have sent an email to Dimia but have not had any reply, only automated.
Hope we used correct emal address to them.
Do you know why they want the meds done so quickly?
They do not seem to be replying to anything.

There is a program called mailwasher free you download the software install then go into options and configure it with.
Pop3, Smtp, logon I/D, Password.
this program defaults to Outlook Express so when you are on the internet you double click the Icon on the desktop for Wailwasher the program auto looks at your ISP mail server and list the lot (still on there server) you can then right click any messsage go down to View Message amd Bingo you can see your email. from there if you are having probs, highlight all the text in the message then prsee CTRL & C on the keyboard then open word and press Ctrl & V to paste the text, at least if your having probs you then have a copy on the PC.
Back to mailwasher once you open Mailwasher and it list the no of emails you have simply click on Process mail the software shall then auto download youe emails from your ISP & open Outlook Express.
I can tell you all now outlook express is a security nightmare NOT at all secure, may i recomend another its free Thunderbird email client looks just like outlook express but 100% secure & i mean it wont let any nasties in.
regards
arthur
ps
in mailwasher you can also. delete & bounce any emails before you download a message, simply right click on any listed email then go down to Add to Blacklist you will then see a tick in the box next to that email address you want to block, and in the future any mail from that address will auto have a tick in all boxes, Not bad for a freeby

Anyone ever experienced problems with the likes of Hotmail or Yahoo? How do they usually rate in terms of reliability? I know our local IP is a nightmare and things often go a stray. I gave DIMA my hotmail email and as far as I am aware (!), it has worked so far!

my email is hotmail and although we rec the acknowledgement email didnt rec the req for meds. When i emailed i sent it direct to our c/o who had already req further info. It was only after the date for this to be sent had come and long gone i began to panic. i dont think it was an automated email that we got back though. What was amusing was all the errors in it!
To rectify the problem for further emails i had to lower my protection level to low which oh did for me.
