1. History & Heritage - Yes I know that in one way Australia has an even longer recorded history than us but I'll miss the English Heritage card.

2. Proximity to the rest of Europe. I like being able to drive to almost any country in Europe inside of a day. I'll particularly miss shopping just being able to hop over the channel to go shopping.

3. Real Ale. I'll have to ditch the CAMRA membership and develop a liking for cold fizz.

1. The beautiful countryside
2. Friendly, self effacing, funny people
3. Working life (salary, terms and conditions that give you at least some dignity, opportunities, respect, working hours etc etc)

I could list 30 things I like about the UK, but these are my top three. If you really cant list three then I pity you.

1. Dry stone walls and Hawthorne hedges (I am from the Lake District) and the history.

2. Four seasons especially spring when the snowdrops and crocus begin to appear.

3. The light nights, dark here by 7.30pm and it is that late because it is summer!!

I could go on and on, but only allowed 3. By the way it is absolutely pouring down today in Brisbane Bayside, fantastic (I know you all think I am mad)

i. Fantastic media (+ Humour - 'Have I got News for You')
ii. Country Pub food/atmosphere
iii. Proximity to Europe

No point beating yourself up - Aus and UK are both great places (for different reasons). I love Aus but there are certainly plenty of things I miss from the UK

Still wouldn't go back there to live just for these reasons!

When we get the weather south wales(gower,mumbles etc) are heavenly places.I live in an elevated position and when we have those 3 days of summer-boy the views are priceless-you can see for miles and miles-someone once told me "god, that's not a view it's a panoramic vista"-well gave me a giggle at the time!!

I love the long evenings(would miss those)

Apart from family can't think of a third.

Whereabouts in Bayside do you live ?

1. Favourite places with a special feel, eg Orkney, Islay, Far North (Sutherland), Cornwall.
2. Pub crawl with your mates in a nice town with good pubs.
3. Curryhouses.

Breakfast cerial is a key part of our enjoyment of life and we are planning to go home because of the vast difference in Weetabix. We did consider shipping it over...but we decided it would be too expensive in the long run. Flights are booked, our bowel and spoons are ready.
