95 Ron then if I can. If not then up to 98. Sounds like a plan.

If you do try 98 just beware of the whiplash from the extra acceleration ;)

I found E10 on my 3.6 Kluger to degrade fuel consumption in so far that it was using more lit/km than standard 91. The few cents saving that was offered by going E10 it was actually costing me more per km. Whilst its fine for the engine, its not manufacturer recommended i think for this reason. 95 and 98 gave better performance but no improvement in consumption so the $ really didn't justify it.

All I can say is try and see how you go with each type and what suits your pocket.

E10 has a lower energy density than 95, because a certain % of it is taken up by ethanol, so you would expect to get that result. I find that E10 and regular unleaded are pretty much exactly the same for city driving (which I do most of) but on the open road, then 95 is much more efficient.

So I normally use E10 for the day to day running around the city, and 95 if I'm heading further afield.

If you can't get a minimum of 95 octane booster does the trick but is rather expensive.

Well, like they say, it always helps to read the label. Sure enough on the back of my petrol cap there is guidance from Smart in German and French telling me to use "95 OCT" presumably the same as 95 RON.
