Default Rather odd question...

Let's say someone has weird discomforts across their chest. By discomforts, I mean dull aches and twinges, more on the left side than the right. The hands tingle and there's a mild numbness in the arms. Occasional light-headedness and occasional cold sweat.

No real pain, no weakness, blood pressure is 134/76 and pulse is about 85-89.

With these symptoms I've described, what would you people think is going on?

I'd think more beer is required

Seriously, if I had those symptoms for 2 days or more I'd take myself off to the doctor and get it checked just to put my mind at rest.

It could be lots of things. It could be a panic attack, or (if this is what you're really asking) it could be worse, eg your heart (although blood pressure and heart rate look OK). But I'm not a doctor. Either way, get it checked out, pronto - we can't afford to lose you : neither Meg or Badge cut-it, when it comes to arguments!

Hi

I really would go to the Doc, just to be safe...especially if you are a smoker or not 100% fit and healthy! Dont worry, Im sure its just the excitement of reading all the posts, but you will feel better once you have been checked out!

Try not to worry.

Yep, it's me I'm talking about. I haven't smoked in 18 months and rarely drink. I'm a little on the big side though, 6'3" and about 125 kg.

I'll be going to a doctor after work.

Well hopefully its 'something and nothing', but I'm glad you're getting checked out all the same

Sounds like stress to me. I'm surprised that you know that your blood pressure is 134/76 without having gone to the doctor already. Unless you got a silly gadget from Boots or something. If you did, why waste your time going to Boots to do a test yourself and then still ask questions, why didn't you just go to the doctor in the first place?

Was it sympathy from all the girls on the forum you wanted?

Your veins tend to constrict under stress, so as your blood pums through the smaller veins, you may feel a tingle. This is stronger on the left because it's closer to the heart, that's all. Your peripheral vision may go blurry as well, again this is due to the smaller blood vessels around the outside of the eye.

Also check for sugar diabetes as this has similar symptoms and can come on at any age.

Either way, stop moaning and do something. :lecture:

Steve.

(All true but meant in jest before someone moans)
