Nor here in Victoria Point, except for trains not running, but that won't be fixed till they build a railway line and station for us here

Reminds me why we left the UK.
I don't remember 5 days of continuous rain in Northern Ireland

Thats twice (probably three times) we've had overcast and rain for 5 days in a row here in 8 months.

I've noticed that weather here gets stuck in a rut alot more than the UK. Here, if it rains, it does so for 5 days, if its sunny, it can be wall to wall sunshine for 8 weeks.

The UK weather is alot more changeable. Four seasons in one day

As someone who lived through the '74 flood & whos house was almost underwater, I think I know what a flood is & what it looks like .

Must get the pics I have of it out & scan & post them.

But still not good weather very often. Say 5 months of continuous poor weather, be it rainy, sleety, cold, grey or a combo of these.

Yes, I agree, but it takes a bit of adjusting to here. Instead of the UK stylee, say a day of rain, a day of showers, a windy cold shower day, then an overcast day. Here, you can literally get 5 days straight of rain. Conversely you can also get 8 weeks straight of sunshine.

I'm not whinging!!! I'm just pointing out a difference in weather patterns I've noticed.
