well we got a "rough" quote from PSS - I emailed them a list of what we want to take - and they said it was only 245 cubic ft so i guess it will be 1/3 container i think.........

i will know more on tuesday from Crown.

Okay Crown are saying 440 cubic feet and their quote was a lot more than expected.......... John Masons have quoted for same amount at just over £600 less...... neither including insurance, but Crown includes Quarantine - JM doesn't. Also have been on to Letton Percival who have quoted me insurance at 1.53% (£245)

our first quote was £2.290.00, without quareentine fees and is 5.50% insurance.

crown quoted us £2.100.00 with quareentine fee included and insurance is 3%
and it is arriving in freemantle closer to bunbury.

can anyone tell us if these are good quotes.

Not sure if yours is inc packing and loading but we're paying £1495 for a sole use 20 ft container. We have to pack and load at our house then we'll pay extra to have it stored on the docks until we're ready for it to go. The extras we have to pay are marine insurance and customs, clearing and delivery the other end. Customs and clearing we're looking at around £350, delivery to aus address ????? (still getting quotes for that). We wanted a sole use container as Mark used to work for a haulage company and knows some of the probs of shared containers.

I've filled out a request form on the Crown website twice and it failed to send. I emailed them last week, and haven't heard back. I phoned all their UK offices today and the phone just rang and rang, and no answerphone clicked into action. I'm not feeling very confident in their service right now. Anyone got a phone number that works? Thanks

Hiya!
Exactly the same happenned to me so I looked on the Crown website & found the MDs details, Mr Barry Koolen. As a result, I had an estimator out within a couple of days with a BIG apology.
If you go here: http://www.crownrelo.com/web/relo.nsf/map.europe.htm and click on London (Head Office) he is at the top.

Many thanks Claire. I copied one of my earlier emails to the Moving Services Manager and said that they might be interested in it from a (loss of) business perspective. Don't feel very confident about them right now!!
