Default Quinns Rock or Butler

Thoughts please, if you know these areas. Schooling, parks, facilities etc.

Both have good areas and those streets to avoid.

Haven't heard anything negative about the primary schools in both areas, though the high school catchment area they come under maybe more of a consideration.

I would choose Quinns, only because you're closer to the beach

Quinns Rock primary was very good.

Clarkson High School though has a terrible reputation, deserved or not. [None of the teachers I know would touch it].

Both of my kids went there (daughter still does in year 12). Nothing wrong with the school or teachers as far as our daughter is concerned. My son with Asperger's OTOH does much better at a small private school.

Cheers all for the replies, I suppose as with places everywhere they all have good and bad points! Both Quinns and Butler appeal to us so much though!

I drive by it every day on my way home. Amazing how fast it's going up.

Good for you. However I stand by my statement - five different teachers and staff I know from vary locations in Perth have all told me the same thing - avoid. That's one of the reasons we moved away from Quinns Rock [plus the travel time by car into the city].

Same as any area without security, You will always get thefts from building sites. I think you will find 2 Rocks & Yanchep are high on the list too (if they have been reported that is)

Well that would make sense cosidering how much building there is here. Probably pretty low building crime in places like Mt Lawley or Subiaco.

Hi all,
We're looking at moving to butler in late jan early feb 2013,
We have 3 children aged ( next year) 14,10 & 5.
We like the look of butler and a good reason to live there would be the new high school, as my daughter is 14 when we move ( born april 98 ) does anyone know if the new high school is going will be operational around ths time.
We looked at clarkson but keep getting put off by the negative comments .
Thank you
Ian

The high school is due to open in Feb 2013 but, as far as I know, will take only Year 8 students in its first year. Your 14 year old would be in Year 9 I believe.

Negative comments from who? People who have actually lived there or people who heard from friends who heard from their second cousin's neighbour's dog?
