Default quick question on medical

Why do i have to use the doctors and radiologists from the panel list given to me by my agent, and not my local g.p?

The closest one for me is in Middlesbrough then Newcastle..

The list can be viewed from this site:-

I would expect it is to prevent fraud, after all if you went to your Gp Adelaide/Sydney would have to spend hours checking up that they really were a licensed doctor etc before they even looked at the results. If they only use reccomended doctors, who have already had their qualifications checked, it saves them time.
It also helps them get a non-biased opinion. If your GP knows you they might be more likely to overlook things that an independent DR might note down.

I am more concerned about the cost than the travelling - £460 for our family!

Why ? - because they are trained doctors for immigration purposes - there is no reason why your local GP cannot do it but he.she just does not have the appropriate accredidation

Thanks and regards
