Queensland New Road Rules - 12 October
For those that don't know, a whole series of new road rules apply from 12 October.
http://www.transport.qld.gov.au/Home...ulations/Road/
Key changes include:
fog lights — turn off fog lights in clear weather. If you drive with fog lights on in clear weather you risk being fined A$40
single centre line — don't U-turn. If you do a U-turn over a single continuous centre line you risk being fined A$180 and three demerit points
seatbelts — all passengers must wear them. If you drive with a passenger of any age without a seatbelt or child restraint you risk being fined A$300 and three demerit points
wheeled recreational devices — if you ride one when and where they are not permitted you risk being fined A$40. So no Scooters in the dark or 50+ roads.

And a single continuous centre line means you can't cross it, i.e. no overtaking and not u-turns.
Weird.

I'm confused by the seat belt one, I assumed it was already the law. As for fog lights, my car doesn't even have them so I can't put them on even if it's foggy. Not seen any fog since I've been here, does Australia not have it?

I assume that adults flouting the seatbelt law took their own fine - but now its the drivers responsibility. I've seen fog here once and OH says that very early he's seen it a few times.

I am amazed at the amount of people who think it's cool to drive with their foglights on ...if you want to be seen better in traffic or when the sun is setting behind you (all good reasons) then use your low beam headlights.
The retarded dickheads driving around with rear fogs on during the day/dusk.. they just need slapping.

What is the difference between Fog Lights and Daytime Running Lights ?
And how can a person tell which is which ?

However they were on the ute when I bought it, secondhand work bomb type of ute not a gay polished chrome trim one
There are massive fogs early morning, end of winter around 5am ( MP must be in bed then ) stunning thick fogs, in all the dips, over creeks, dams.
