Default Queensland - New Permanent Border Pass

Queensland introduces new permanent border pass system
Queensland will set a new travel declaration system for all travellers entering the state.

From 1am Saturday, June 19, anyone who enters the state will be required to complete an online travel declaration.

============================
https://www.qld.gov.au/queensland-tr...IW3QNKrtysvi6s

You must complete the Queensland Travel Declaration up to 3 days prior to your arrival into Queensland. The form should take about 3 minutes to complete and your declaration will be issued immediately via email.

By completing a Queensland Travel Declaration, we can quickly contact you if an interstate exposure venue or hotspot is declared. This helps us reduce the risk of COVID-19 in Queensland and manage outbreaks.

you are a Queensland resident, you must also complete a Queensland travel declaration if you are returning home from interstate or New Zealand.

If conditions change or you need to update your travel details, you’ll need to complete a new Travel Declaration with the updated details.

You are right. I had a moment of madness thinking the water in the pools might be quite nice on the Sunshine Coast this time of year, then had a horrible flash back to Port Douglas a few years ago on an August trip where the water was too cold to swim in at the resort and we had to wetsuit up to snorkel on the reef. And if you can't swim in Queensland, there aint much else.

Its irrelevant now. I was at Bondi yesterday for a run and a swim (yes ironically a swim) so they would now demand 2 weeks quarantine. .... Muppets

Queensland have listed Waverley as a hotspot and have provided a map.

https://www.qld.gov.au/health/condit...spots-covid-19

The best part about this, is that anyone who went to the Belle Cafe, where the limo driver spread COVID to the lady drinking coffee, can go nuts in Queensland. It's in Woolahra.

Good one Queenland. Keep printing those Smart State number plates.

Victoria and South Australia have put the no entry sign up for Sydney.

All Queensland have is Waverley.

Something to do with the State of Origin on Sunday and the NSW school holidays next week and the $$$$$ lost and the tourism industry crying foul?

Surely today she's got to close off Sydney.

She finally fell to pressure. Surely she has to cancel the state of origin. Half the NSW crew have been in those areas this week before hastily shifting to Kingscliff

Sounds like she has her own problems now rather than dealing with politics of other states. I wonder if Victoria will ban travel to Queensland.

https://www.news.com.au/travel/trave...2084118b0aa31bMs Palaszcuk backed the comments during her press conference later on Tuesday.

“We are having lockdowns in major cities because the overseas arrivals are bringing the virus here. They are going into hotels and all of our staff are having to deal with it,” she told reporters

“Hotel quarantine is just not the answer. We need a massive reduction in overseas arrivals because the overseas arrivals are bringing in these contagious strains

Um err. I am pretty sure this latest was a Fedex crew - Freight import and exports.

yep, but when did she ever let the truth get in the way? She is anti-international arrivals, backed up by her minions (and a majority of Qlders, sadly), and as for those who dare to leave and then try and return......lowest of the low.

Inbred Australia right at the top of Queensland. She has just advised Queenslanders under 40 NOT to get AZ. This woman is a danger. She needs to shut up fast.

So a Fedex crew member isn't an overseas arrival?

***

Face it. After a year of COVID, relatively drastic measures to curb transmission have a high degree of public support, anywhere in Australia, when outbreaks occur. Lockdowns are painful, but on the whole, we support them.

The way forward is to fix the vaccine rollout.
