They may get you here, but I think you'll get better service elsewhere (Singa, Emirates, JAL etc).

Not sure whether the specials listed here are still available (http://www.meijboom.co.uk/australia.htm#ozflights) but there are also some additional sites you may wish to check for pricing etc.

Thanks,

E

Chris- :)

I'm not saying anything against QANTAS because I think that they are a top airline, however I have never flown internationally with them, only domestic.

My wife and I visited Ireland in 1999 and we flew Emirates so that we could visit our daughter who was working in Dubai.

Based on our experience with Emirates, we would definately recommended them.

Excellent friendly service.

Cheers.

I think Emirates UK to Sydney, Melbourne & Perth is one stop in Dubai.
Emirates UK to Brisbane is 2 stops in Dubai & Singapore.

Re: Quantas Airline ?

I have flown with Qantas from Hong Kong to Brisbane and vice versa, around a 10 hour flight each way I seem to remember. Anyway, it was great, it was a brand new plane, with tv screens in the back of the seat in front of you, with loads of tv and movie channels [the same system as Virgin, with rewind and forward/pause facility] great food and really smiley friendly staff. The only downside was on the return flight back to Hong Kong. There was an ozzie guy sat next to me, it was his first trip outside of Oz, and was new to flying. Whenever he needed the loo he would jump over me, like Starsky & Hutch. He got very drunk and ordered virtually everything from the duty free magazine, pronouncing Chanel like Channel, much to the amusement of the flight attendent. Certainly added to relieveing the boredom factor at least.

But thats by the by, Having flown Garuda, China Eastern, Air France, Virgin, all long haul, I would defo fly Quantas again without a doubt, they were the best.

Just my opinion though.... :) I've had some bad experiences with them!

Those flight prices look a tad on the high side

I agree - The service is poor compared to Singapore Airlines.

Ever thought about Gulf? Service is excellent, preferred it to Emirates

They fly Heathrow --> Bahrain --> Singapore --> Sydney --> Melbourne then back

Duty free in Bahrain is cheap as chips!

Qantas are fine.

If you've travelled with Sing you've been spoilt though.

I would pay more to fly with Sing.

Qantas/ BA do have tv's in each seat for every person but you can't press "pause", "rewind" etc. or start a film when you want it like Sing which is great when kids need the toilet or you need the loo! You have to watch the film from where it is on a continous roll. I tried to watch a full film in 3 different stages!

They are better than the cheap airlines but service and food on Sing beats them hands down (in my opinion)

I had the rewind/forward/pause facility on my flight with Quantas? I think it depends on the plane, which facilities you will have.

Stick With Singapore Airlines They Are Great - Much Better Than Quantas / Ba!!!
More Movies, Music, Nicer Food And The Staff Were Great -
Might Be My Imagination But There Seemed To Be A Little More Room
Only Down Side They Were Alot Stricter On Excess Baggage Than Quantas / Ba

Hi
We flew out with Qantas- fantastic!! couldn't fault them.
Then back with BA - awful, surly unhelpful staff, not many drinks, no water on tap as there was on the way out, never again!!
