Not really as the maintenance standards are not as good in Asia(generally) and is pretty crap if you are an engineer in OZ and want a job... still all the airlines do that these days - it's all about money and maintenance is a big expense which they hate paying!

The Aussie shite now in charge of BA cut back on maintenance at Ansett and it folded due to unserviceable aircraft ,so you could be right.

At the end of the day after after slagging off some of the western airlines (and that includes America) they are all a lot better than some stuff I have had the "pleasure" of flying or working with - try spending time in Africa, some of the former USSR or even some of the Indian regions then you will happily fly BA!!!!!!!!!

hi,

We are flying Ba & Qantas, with our ticket but would never pay for business. We where upgraded on Christmas eve just gone and what a load of rubbish.

Yes you get a "comfier seat and more leg room" but the service was terrible, we where nevr asked for drinks or anything we where just left. when the food came round I was last and never got my meal. It was chrsitmas and for them to push the boat out we got a small well tiny bar of chocolate that stated merry Christmas.

Economy on our return via bangkok was great.

Flights are like companies it depends who's working for them on the day.

I would save yourself the money

Heard the unions moaning that BA is carry far too much management , typical Aussie style cut back on doers and make the company top heavy.
