Default Property :Rent or Buy ?

Hi,

First time posting, can anybody help me.

I'm a skilled permanent visa applicant (subclass136), in the final throes of waiting (hope it's soon !!!!), are there any restrictions on buying property ? Do I have to wait for citizenship before being able to buy ?

Would really appreciate any steer ? Thanks.

We have a mortgage advisor that works as a consultant for our company & she reliably informs me that the majority of lenders will consider you after a period of 3 mths salaries going into the bank....

From personal experience it is difficult (may impossible) to get a bank lender with less than 2 years residency if you intend to be self-employed.
