Hi does anybody know what it is like for people trying to rent property in the brisbane area with a pet dog thank you

We enquired of one the agents in Brisbane recently and they replied that if pets are not allowed then this will be stated on the details, if not then generally they are allowed but obviously not in apartments.

Alot of places dont let if you have pets.
You can sometimes offer an extra 'pet bond' on top of your normal bond.
we did have a bit of hassle in Sydney (not that different to Brisbane in terms of pet thing).

You can get a rental with a pet, we had a cat and he was said to be kept outside or in the garage, but we let him in and just kept the place clean and tidy and free from smells etc! Next door was also rented with the same agent and they had a small dog but it wasent always in the garden if you know what I mean!! You should be ok its just that there is hardly any rentals avalible let alone rentals with pets. Hope this helps, Pete

We've rented 3 houses since arriving.

1st rental - Pet (Staffy dog) allowed, but HAD to live outside! ... and he did ...

2nd and 3rd both ok for him to live inside.

If you have pets you HAVE to have the place sprayed when you leave whether they live inside or out, so might as well have them in!
