Default Proper Irish Butchers

We live in the hills area and would love to find a proper Irish Butcher that sells Gammon Steaks, Real Pork Sausages and pushing it a bit but Black / White Pudding. has anyone come across such a shop would love to know. All this talk of food made me hungry, crispy bacon butty on the menu me thinks.

Have you tried asking your local butcher if he can order you some in? Gammon is pickled pork (just tell them you want it in slices with the skin on) and black pudding is also called blood sausage.

Our local butcher sells neither, but is happy to get me gammon if I give him some notice.

(His pork sausages are already 'real' so I don't have any problems there)

Looks like they source some of their stuff from Rob's British Butchers in Dandenong (Melbourne).

Quick search online found this place (Scottish butcher) in Sydney - definitely not the same area you're in, but might help as they seem to do delivery orders too.

Good grief I wish I wasn't so nosey - I might have to go get me some black pudding.

(Dreamy - had breakfast in Easingwold on the way to York. Full English with black pudding and fried bread. I considered leaving the fried bread...for about 3 seconds.)

You want the Irish butchers at Harbord. Quite famous, been mentioned on TV. We've been there a couple of times for their boiled bacon. I'd go there more often but they're a long way from us.

Worth it!

Default Great Scottish Butcher

Sorry dont know about Irish butchers but there is a cracking Scottish butcher in Sunbury who does, black pudding, white pudding, square sausage, tattie scones, potatoe scones etc etc. We just cant get enough, he also sells, tunnock teacakes, snowballs, etc

Its worth the travel up there if you dont stay local

The Appletree Restaurant in Brisbane is the only place so far I have seen a full Irish breakfast with black and white pudding whilst I have been in Australia. It hit the spot!

So what's the difference between a Full Irish, Scottish or English? They seem to be the same to me, they all tend to have black pudding unfortunately although the English doesn't have white pudding - I have no idea of what that is.
