Thumbs up The PR is now mine

Well it is now official, I can stay in Oz for good!!!! I arrived home from work to find yet another large white envelope stuffed into the letter box (good old Aussie Post). Thankfully this one was almost sealed, there must be a sticky tape shortage in Sydney (to go with the water shortage too I suspect). Anyway, I walked into the house and dived into the envelope to find the rest of our paperwork plus something else... My heart stopped. Was it time to start packing my bags or was it time to open the beer...?

It was time to start opening the beer, A Visa Grant notification. I could not believe my eyes. After only a month of waiting and hoping, the wait is over and now I find myself wondering what I can do next...gee let me think CITIZENSHIP..whoo hoo!!!! As you can tell I am pretty wrapped by it all and I am looking forward to spending the rest of my days here in Oz.

For all you peeps in the early stages of getting to Australia, this is the moment you are waiting for, when all the hard work and paperwork is completed and it has been worth the time and effort. My advice is give them everything you can. Ensure you give them all the information, cross the I's and dot the T's.

I was surprised to get a response so soon. The DIMIA site stated that it could take upto six months for PR applications to be processed. Lucky for me and what an Xmas present...its too big for wrapping paper, so I will just take it now..yeahhhhh.

To all you others waiting, Chin up, hold on and keep watching for the dude on the Motorbike posting large unsealed envelopes in your letter box.

thanks guys, and yes I am stoked, big time. Its hard to believe I have achieved this, after swearing blind I would never leave the UK. It all changed when we came here for the Honeymoon and I fell in love with the place, needless to say I don't need to list the benefits of living here. Although you either love Australia or you don't. For me coming to Oz, was for many reasons and now that I am living here I cannot imagine living back in the UK. I don't hate the UK, I just had enough of the lifestyle there and the rain blah blah blah. So on with my next step, I think its 2 years before I can become a Citizen? not sure, as there was talk of changing the procedure.
