I arrived in Aus as a young immigrant on a roasting hot day in Feb 2001. Straight off the plane I was wandering the streets of Aspendale, Melbourne, lugging all my worldly possessions and looking for the address of a family friend. A mum with kiddy seats in the back of her Falcon pulled up and asked "where are you looking for, darl? You look lost". When I told her she said "oh that's not far, hop in and I'll give you a lift".

Yes that's right! I enjoy talking about my experience in OZ whether it was good or bad if that's OK with you.

Opinions from those who have lived here and left are just as valid as the opinions of those here or still on their way!
BE is actually also very grateful when people stay as members of the site after returning home as it helps to give an idea of what life is like back in the UK

Thank you!! I am not afraid to say it wasn't for me. Unlike some I know who are desperately struggling on hoping it will get easier/ better sometime. Well for some life is better in Oz while for others myself included, life is far easier and better back in the Uk. It is a massive thing to emigrate and just as big moving back. It took me a year to adjust to life again in the uk even though I had only been in oz for two!

Friday night with my 4 year old, swimming under the stars at South Bank followed by coffee and doughnuts.
