Angry Post-Arrival.

I got my visa evidenced here in DC. Now I'm flying to Sydney for 3 days and coming back, of-course to activate my PR.

Now is it at the port of entry(airport) they issue me a 5 year immigratant visa or do they give some kind of PR card / paperwork.

Do I've to go report to some DIMA office ???. I'm totally confused. Please guide me

Thanks

You get to Sydney, hand them the landing card (the airline will provide you with that), immigration will stamp your passport and the system will now have it that you have entered Oz. You are then a permanent resident of Australia.

The sticker and a stamp with a date on makes your visa valid.

If you have an address in Oz (not a hotel) you can get a Tax file number, convert your license, get medicare card etc but if you are just there for a quick trip enjoy yourself.
