Hadn't thought of Gunwharf! Will check out the Custom House to see if its kid friendly - been there for our last 2 Christmas do's & can recommend it. Would be very easy for everyone to get to if they need to use public transport or driving, its only a couple of minutes from the Ferry/train station & has its own parking.

Just called them & they welcome kids but no kids area. Asked him if he knew of anywhere in Gunwharf that had a kids area & he didn't think there was.

There's a pub with a big kids play area not that far from us (just as you head into Gosport), but its about 2 miles from the train station. Trying to search for pubs with kids areas that are a bit more central for everyone & will get back to you later tonight.

Lovely thanks for your help, as I said not too good with this sort of thing - ask me about Southampton and I would be able to help but I think we need it a little more Portsmouth way cos there are some coming from West Sussex

It will be brilliant to meet up with all you guys

If we can't agree on a convenient pub the other alternative is to do picnic and drinks on Southsea seafront. The kids could all round around, bring football and kites etc - obviously as long as weather is good - what do any of you reakon??

NikiL - have you had any recommendations from people at work???

What a fantastic idea ! ! ! Good thinking, I like that,(very Australian !).... but of course as you said it all depends on the weather, if everyone agrees to this we could use the pub as a 2nd option if it rains !

Look forward to meeting you all aswell.

Keely.
