Default Portable TV's

Our removal firm told us that our portable TV's may not work something to do with it being on a different PAL system They think our big telly in the lounge will be ok its just the older portables.

Has anyone experienced this problem?

Your TV will receive a video signal without any problems, but the audio signal is PAL I in the UK and PAL B/G in Australia. If your TV can receive both signals, you'll be fine. If not, you can get around it by purchasing an Australian set top box and running the signal through that.

We've bought an LCD TV which receives PAL I and PAL B/G, so we know we'll be OK.

Yes it's the same returning. We bought TVs in Oz and brought them back here but they won't work except through the video. We've just bought a freeview box today to see if they work with that. Fingers crossed.
